Trees and Seeds

Introduction, evaluation, propagation and distribution of new varieties of fruit and nut trees.

Everything Organic Nursery is registered as a private limited devoted to sales of grafted fruit and nut trees, cuttings of grapes and berries as well as production and sales of vegetable and herb seeds.

EVON  obtains locally or imports a large variety of fruit and nut trees.  After some years of examination, the trees are evaluated for their adaptability to Nepal climate and tastes.  If the results are positive, we propagate by grafts, air-layering or cuttings.  The plants are exhibited for sale in our nursery beds for distribution to organizations or individuals.  Our dream is to cover the Nepali countryside with a rich diversity of fruit and nut trees, exporting surpluses to other countries instead of importing.

rainwater catchment ponds

Collect rainwater with a simple Rainwater Harvesting System
If you live in an area where there is little water in the dry season, you can have a rainwater harvesting system for low cost if you live in our area.

How does it work?  Your roof collects large amounts of water.  A gutter collects it and sends it into a plastic lined pond through a pipe.  In the monsoon, you can collect over 60,000 liters of water to use for irrigation and animals during the dry season.

What you have to do:

Contact Shree Krishna Dhital at 9851113380 to apply or Email: skdhital@gmail.com.
If you qualify, your responsibility is to dig the pond. After you complete the digging, we provide a heavy duty plastic pond liner, which is guaranteed for at least 10 years by the manufacturer.  We also provide the gutter and a limited amount of pipe.

We welcome donations.

Community service opportunity: Come to Nepal with a group and get involved.

Shree Krishna Dhital has been our partner in our community projects since 2010, and does all the hard work. We need more young men like Shree to stay in Nepal and commit to village development.   More details at his websitehttps://skrisshphoolbari.wordpress.com/projects/earthquake-relief-project-fruit-and-nut-trees-

EARTH QUAKE RELIEF

After the devastating April 2015 earthquake, we partnered with Shree Krishna Dhital to provide materials for 42 temporary shelters for our surrounding villages.  We also provided 12 shelters for our staff.  These OmaHomes were designed by the late Jim Danisch and except for the metal roofing, were constructed mostly from locally available materials.  They are big enough for living, cooking, and storage and will be useful for many years.

Sponsor a fruit or nut tree for $20.  Earthquake relief is also about providing better nutrition and income in the villages.  Trees are a good option for commercial agriculture in Nepal.   Although
field crops and vegetables demand regular labor, trees require little labor once established, so they are a good choice for non-resident farmers.
Nepal imports more than 95% of nuts and fruits sold in the domestic market.  Apples, pears, pomegranate, grapes, mangoes, bananas, pineapple, come from China or India.  Almonds, walnuts and pistachios are imported from other Asian countries and California.  All of these can be grown within one or more of Nepal’s diverse ecosystems.

We pair you with a local beneficiary/earthquake victim family. We provide a grafted fruit or nut tree from Everything Organic Nursery along with training in how to plant and care for it. This will be a
sustainable way to rebuild the community and help the family.
